This design of an interior remodel was done early in my career for a friend of a friend. The kitchen and family room were designed to become one, conjoined by a dual-functioning piece of custom furniture.

The plane of a generous kitchen tabletop turns down to become the base of a comfy settee within the family room.

The window openings of the house’s envelope were kept in place, and custom cabinetry was designed to line the walls.

A physical scale model was built and photographed with a miniature camera to depict the object / space relationships of the design.
