PLAIN SPACEPHOTOS
Captured while lying on remote parts of Highway 90 in far Southwest Texas, these images depict thoughts on making space of the plains.
By moving the viewer’s perspective close to the ground plane, the composition is more clearly separated into foreground, middleground, and background.
The inclusion of the road’s surface in the foreground maximizes the depth of the images and emphasizes our intimate relationship with the ground.
The middleground becomes blurry lines and shapes of landforms and vegetation, contained between ground and sky.
Each of these compositions supports a background of pillowy sky, our ethereal ceiling overhead.
