GARDEN BOXESSHROUD . STORAGE . SHED
In the late 1970’s, the house on this property was drawn by Frank Welch for a general contractor, and the contractor built it as his own personal residence.
From 2008 to 2010 while I was working in the office of Max Levy Architect, we executed a major remodel project for this house and property.
Later - after having my own design practice for almost two years - the client asked me to design three small structures to add to the site: a shroud to hide fountain pump equipment, a storage cabinet to hold gardening tools, and a shed for housing bikes and working in a bit.
The house is a simple compilation of well-proportioned redwood boxes . . . and these three little boxes for the house’s garden were designed to follow its lead.
All three of the structures were shop-fabricated then installed on the site.
