The client assembled the custom pre-fab steel parts by installing common rivets through precisely-located, pre-cut holes. \n\nThe following restroom components were cut and brake-formed from six sheets of 16 gauge hot-rolled steel and were delivered to the site: wall panels . door . sliding door hardware . grab bars . toilet paper holder . tensile members . and a slot for a sink / table. \n\nSlicing through a corner of the steel box is an implement of both function and sentiment. The client had originally hand-crafted the assembly from 1/4” bronze plate to be used as a lavish residential lavatory. Repurposed for this application, it now serves as a studio sink inside the restroom and a presentation table out in the main space. \n\nJDS : design . fabrication administration . assembly
