CTV DESKSFOR THE OWNERS

Surrounded by a building also designed by JDS, the four CTV owners’ desks refer to the structure of the spaces around them. The single-leg steel base of each desk is exposed between the white oak planks of the desktop and mimics the steel frames of the building itself.

The desktops’ butcher block surfaces were all made up of four-inch wide rift-sawn boards, and each is finished with semi-transparent gray stain.

The exposed steel spine and fasteners are held 1/16” below the top surface of the adjacent wood, forming shallow voids for holding epoxy and arriving at a comprehensively smooth surface.
