BIRD VANEWIND HOUSE
This birdhouse is also a wind vane, pivoting atop its slender pole of a perch.
The movement is per the wind and a single sphere between the pole and the birdhouse assembly.
The primary components of the assembly are two steel planes at either end of a connecting rod. As one steel sheet forms space and fends off gusts, the other provides direction and balances the weight.
The materials were chosen for their relationship to one another throughout time. At the same time the orange cedar is turning silver, the silver steel is turning orange.
