Pointing west from the house’s entry pathway, the pool enhances views of the sunset. The negative edge detail provides a seamless connection with the oak grove to the north.\n\n__SWIMMING POOL__\nRemovable and rotating umbrellas can be hung over the pool to provide shade from the midday sun. A shallow tanning deck and long bench afford opportunities for lounging. When activated, a swim jet makes the small pool a swimmer’s treadmill.\n\n__DETAILS__\nThe upper perimeter of the pool is built from large, custom-fabricated pieces of solid granite. The polished tiles of the negative edge provide a crisp smooth surface for the water’s ‘corner’. The monolithic coping uses two different finishes on the same piece to blend with their adjacent materials.
